Privacy Policy

MY FORAGE is a personal foraging journal. This page describes exactly what the app stores, what it shows to other users, and what it erases.

1. What we store

• Account: username, password (stored as a scrypt hash, never in clear text), optional e-mail and display name, country and region if you provide them.
• Foraging spots: name, description, GPS coordinates, habitat, soil, exposure, altitude, photos.
• Outings and finds: dates, species, quantities, weights, weather, notes, photos, coordinates if you record them.
• Progress: experience, level, trophies.

2. Who can see your spots

Every spot carries a visibility that you choose:

• Private — you only. This is the default.
• Friends — people whose friend request you accepted.
• Close friends — only those you marked as such; the designation is one-way.
• Public — every user of the app.

A spot you may not access does not appear in the app, and the API answers "not found": its very existence is not disclosed.

3. Sensitive spots and blurring

A spot marked sensitive never leaves our servers with its exact coordinates for anyone but you: they are replaced by a point offset by several hundred metres, derived from a secret held by the server. That offset cannot be computed by a third party, and it is stable over time so repeated observations cannot narrow it down.

4. Photos

Your photos are stored on our servers, in Europe, and are readable only by you. They are not analysed, not shared, and never used to train a model.

5. What we do not do

• No advertising, no advertising trackers, no data brokers.
• No sale or sharing of your spots with third parties.
• No background location tracking: location is read only when you open the map or record a point.

6. Processors

• Hosting: Hetzner (Germany, European Union).
• Subscriptions: RevenueCat, Apple and Google process payments. We never see your payment details.
• Species sheet translation: catalogue common names and descriptions — which contain no personal data — are translated by a third party service and then cached.

7. Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Account deletion is immediate and permanent (see Account deletion).

8. Your rights

You can view, correct and export your data from the app at any time, and delete your account without going through us. Questions: support@imin.uno.

These documents are written in French and English. In case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the French version prevails.
